“Everything in me tends to go on to become something else. My soul is impatient with itself, as with a bother-some child; its restlessness keeps growing and is forever the same. Everything interests me but nothing holds me. I attend to everything, dreaming all the while.”

The Book of Disquiet — Fernando Pessoa

"It is important not to worry about being liked, appreciated or understood. You are the forefront of a new consciousness, and many of your ideas are new. (...) Learn to detach from needing praise or validation (...) Learn to detach from people's reactions and value your work according to your own internal sense of its worth. (...) It is better to reach one person who truly benefits from your work, than a hundred who do not. (...) Give yourself the gift of detaching from your worries and trust that everything is happening perfectly ."

Spheres — Peter Sloterdijk

August 13th — 03:21 pm

Waiting for him to come home. Windows open, smells like rain. This song is playing in every room.

"Freedom is always found just where you are (...) it all takes place right now. Hurrying and worrying don't bring more time. All we truly ever have is the present moment. The past is gone, the future is not yet here. The art of living is to be in the eternal present, open to what is. It takes only a moment to break the spell of time, to step out of our thoughts and see the sunlight reflecting on the window, taste the dazzling mystery of a tangerine."

No Time Like the Present — Jack Kornfield

August 12th — Home / 06:16 pm

A summer evening. Rains outside. My bare feet are on top of the sofa, the laptop on my lap. While I type this, the room is silent, but G is on his computer making music and I can hear it through his headphones.

"This silence is not withdrawal, indifference, or punishment. It is not the absence of thoughts. It is spacious and refreshing, a tender stillness from which you can learn, listen, and look deeply."

No Time Like the Present — Jack Kornfield

"Today is today. Today is not yesterday. Today is not tomorrow. There is only one world, the world pressing against you at this minute. There is only one minute in which you are alive, this minute here and now. (...) Love in the past is a memory. Love in the future is a fantasy. The only place to truly love is just where you are."
